How do I care for Cultured Pearls?

Cultured Pearls require a bit of special care. Please store them in a soft cloth pouch, or in a velvet lined jewelry drawer. Do not store them with other items, especially hard stones like diamonds.
Pearls can scratch. Any pearl jewelry should be the very last item you put on before leaving your house. Apply all cosmetics, hair products, and skin care products prior to putting on your pearls. To help keep them clean, wipe pearls down with a soft terry cloth or microfiber cloth before lovingly storing.

Gemstone, Diamond, and Metal Care instructions:

For Gemstones, Diamonds, Metals, and Pearls avoid any perfumes, lotions, or creams as it can cause damage. Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. We highly recommend removing jewelry while doing rough work, sleeping, or showering. Keep away from chlorine/bleach and rough/abrasive materials, as chemicals can cause damage to leather, stones, and metals. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

Avoid playing with, tugging, or working out with jewelry as it is delicate and could break. When not in use, item should be lovingly stored in its own pouch to minimize scratching or becoming tangled. To prevent tarnishing, use an airtight plastic bag.

Oxidized silver jewelry should not be cleaned with jewelry cleaning dips or aggressive polishing that will strip the blackened surface. If a cleaning is necessary, use a mild dish detergent and soft toothbrush with as little rubbing as possible.

We will cover costs of repairs if the damage is due to a manufacturing defect up to two weeks upon purchase date.

Leather Pearl Lariat Care Instructions:

Pearls don’t like being perfumed, lotioned, or creamed. Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the last thing you take off. Avoid playing with, tugging, or pulling knots. Excessive distress may cause knots to become undone. When not in use, item should be lovingly stored in its own pouch to minimize scratching or becoming tangled. We will cover costs of repairs if the damage is due to a manufacturing defect up to two weeks upon purchase date.

The leather must be hydrated whenever the piece shows signs of drought. Simply rub with some ultra-nourishing organic leather care cream, or shea butter. It is perfect for moisturizing your leather as often as necessary in order to give back its flexibility and beauty. We highly recommend removing jewelry while doing rough work, sleeping, or showering. Keep away from chlorine/bleach and rough/abrasive materials, as chemicals can cause damage to leather and pearls. You can wipe pearls with a damp cloth.

How often should I have my Pearl Lariats restrung?

Your cultured pearl lariats should be inspected periodically. If you wear them often have them restrung when leather integrity looks compromised. Look for signs of wear like loose knots or distressed leather.
